SyncShop represents Sony Music artists’ recordings and visual content for use in films, trailers, television, commercials, games and apps. That's 130 years of iconic content, including music from Arista, Columbia, Epic, Masterworks, RCA, Sony Latin and Sony Nashville labels.

With offices in over 40 countries, our local staff is always ready to assist with all licensing needs, by providing creative solutions and rights clearances. We believe that the right song or visual can help make any project unforgettable.

For any sync clearance inquiries or requests, please fill out the contact form below. We will review your message and get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you!

Once SyncShop receives your completed recording request, we will submit it for approval. Please allow at least 3-6 weeks for you request to be processed. If/when your quote is issued, it will remain valid for 90 days.

For non-profit requests, please include a copy of your 501(c)(3) form. If you do not have 501(c)(3) status we will not be able to consider your request non-profit. All non-profit requests will be individually evaluated based on the requested terms and media. Sony Music does not grant gratis requests.

Please note that you are responsible for, and our approval is contingent upon, you obtaining consent and paying any other person who may have an interest in the recording, including but not limited to any side artists and their respective labels or owners of samples, or any consents and/or payments required pursuant to any applicable union agreement, including but not limited to SAG/AFTRA and AFofM.

In addition to the recording license, you will also need to obtain a publishing license from the publisher(s) of the composition. Please note that you will need to pay both a recording and publishing fee. You can find publishing information on sites such as ASCAP.com, BMI.com, and SESAC.com.

If your production occurs outside the US, please reach out to that respective territory for licensing permission.

Description: Name of the artist(s) performing the recording.
Product company/entity that will be paying for the license/listed on invoice.
Brief synopsis of the project including running time, cast, director, and any other relevant information. Feel free to provide a link for viewing.
Detailed description of the scene in which the song will be featured.
Use Type
Where the project will be made available, i.e., film festivals, all media, internet, etc.
Length of term for the project, i.e., 1 year, 5 years, perpetuity.
What territories your project will be available, i.e., Worldwide or US & Canada only. If territories vary depending on media, please be specific.

Release or air date of your project, if applicable.
Include if you would like the option of additional rights in the future. Options are granted on a case-by-case basis.
Dollar amount. Please note SME does not grant gratis licenses.
